CANADIAN BEAVER FUR
WATER RESISTANT • DURABLE • FUNCTIONAL
Beaver fur is one of the warmest and most functional natural materials available. It is incredibly dense and naturally water resistant.
Beaver fur consists of a thick layer of ultra-fine insulating underfur covered by longer guard hairs that shed moisture and snow. This combination makes it ideal for extreme cold conditions.
We use beaver fur on the backs of our mittens and as trim where maximum insulation and weather protection matter most.
CANADIAN COYOTE FUR
INSULATING • BREATHABLE • DURABLE
Coyotes evolved to survive the brutal North American winters, and their fur reflects that. It features dense insulating underfur combined with long guard hairs that shed snow, resist moisture, and block wind.
Coyote fur is particularly effective as a hood ruff, as it creates a protective boundary layer of still air around the face. This dramatically reduces heat loss and protects exposed skin from cold wind - a principle relied upon for generations in Arctic clothing.
We use coyote fur trim on mittens, winter moccasins, and as the ruff on our anoraks.
WHY CHOOSE REAL FUR?
BUILT FOR THE NORTH
Real fur evolved to protect wild animals in the some of the most extreme climates. Dense insulating underfur traps warmth while longer guard hairs block wind and shed moisture.
NATURAL & SUSTAINABLE
Real fur is a natural, biodegradable material. Unlike synthetic trims made from plastic fibers that can remain in the environment for decades or longer, fur returns naturally to the earth.
ROOTED IN TRADITION
For centuries, Indigenous peoples, northern communities and explorers relied on fur to survive harsh winters. Today, it forms a deep connection between people, the land and animals.
