Essential gear for your wilderness adventures!

The Boreal Forest

The traditional-style of winter travel and hot tent camping is deeply connected to the boreal forest regions of the northern hemisphere. Interconnected lake and river systems, provide incredible travel routes across large expanses, with snow and ice cover enabling the hauling of heavy gear relatively easily by snowshoe and toboggan (no backpacks required!). Dense forests provide a ubiquitous energy source for cooking and heating, as well as shelter from the elements. Together these characteristics enable essentially unlimited travel and sustainable living in remote wilderness with a relatively-high level of comfort. Our winter travel gear is designed specifically for efficient, comfortable travel and living in the winter boreal forest environment, largely utilizing natural materials and traditional designs that have proven effective over centuries.

As an homage to this incredible environment, we provide some background information on the boreal forest assisted by our handy GPT!
